V-Splash

As discussed this morning, here is some information regarding the eponymous “V-Splash” that rowers love to talk about.  The V-Splash occurs when water simultaneously comes off the back and front face of the blade at the catch.  The shape of the splash forms a ‘V’.   This phenomenon is more likely to occur when one actively thinks about Gravity playing its role during the ‘plop’ process.

My last successful V-Splash was in 1994, so don’t worry too much about it…..
